Become a Volunteer

We help our neighbors in need by providing:
  • Mailbox and Message Center
  • Food Distribution
  • Showers, Clothing & Hygiene Items
  • Referrals for other services

To become a volunteer:

  1. Fill out the Volunteer Registration Form and bring it to the Uptown Operations Coordinator. You can come visit Uptown during our open hours (10am-1pm Mon-Fri) and fill out a Volunteer Registration Form in person. To save time, you can do it digitally instead and email the completed form to [email protected], or you can print it out and bring your completed form with you to Uptown.
  2. Meet with the Operations Coordinator. Before volunteers take on specific roles and schedules at Uptown, they meet with our Operations Coordinator (Calvin) to chat and find out what will be a good fit. You can visit us in person, email [email protected], and/or fill out the Volunteer form on this right side of this webpage to find a time to meet.
  3. Show up! Come visit us at 4101 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92105 to see Uptown Community Service Center in action. Uptown volunteers and employees are often busy and buzzing around, so if it's your first time visiting be sure to let us know that you're a new prospective volunteer!
